The Company List Editor allows you to build customized company lists and add them to the selected worksheet. Create company lists by selecting companies from custom or standard lists, or perform a search to locate companies based on criteria entered. View the companies as a temporary -Search Results- list or save the companies as a custom list or company summation. Use the temporary company list or saved company list in any BestLink reporting feature.
Important:
Company identifiers are included when adding the selected companies to the worksheet.
If you are using the Company List Editor to update a custom report, the BestLink for Excel function must be manually updated for the new selection. The report will not update the report data to reflect the new company selection until Refresh Worksheet is selected. If available, use the Custom Reports Task Pane to update the report.
Select Company List Editor from the Custom Lists group button.
Select the companies for your report using any combination of the following options:
Existing List - Choose a previously created company list from the Custom Lists or Standard Lists tab in the Available Company Lists section. Choose to organize the Standard Lists tab by Industry or by Product. Use the Expand and Collapse buttons to assist in locating the desired company list.
Select a company list or summation from the Available Company Lists section.
Summations Only: Select the appropriate Summations option.
Select Items uses the companies contained in the summation in the report.
Select Summation uses the company summation in the report.
Click and drag the list from the tree view in the Available Company Lists section to the Selected Companies section.
Customized List - Create a company list using any combination of list items from the Custom Lists and/or Standard Lists tabs. Choose to organize the Standard Lists tab by Industry or by Product. Use the Expand and Collapse buttons to assist in locating the desired company list.
Double-click a list from the appropriate population. The selected list populates the Available Companies section.
Summations Only: Select the appropriate Summations option.
Select Items uses the companies contained in the summation in the report.
Select Summation uses the company summation in the report.
Select the companies
for the report. Position your mouse pointer over a company
to view company details including the company type, domicile,
and NAIC number.

Search for companies - Search for companies for your report using any of the Find Companies options in the Tools, Options and Information section.
Select the desired Find
Companies option and perform the search.
The -Search Results-
are placed within the Available
Companies section of the selected wizard.
Select the companies
for the report. Position your mouse pointer over a company
to view company details including the company type, domicile,
and NAIC number.

View Group Members - View the group members for a company within the Available Companies or Selected Companies section.
Position the mouse pointer over the desired company.
Choose Show Group Members
from the right-click menu. The Available
Companies section updated to display the associated
companies.

Optional: Save the companies as a Custom List using the Save as Custom List option in the Tools, Options and Information section.
Choose to place the companies Vertically or Horizontally on the worksheet.
Enter the cell location to place the selected companies and their corresponding identifiers.
Click the OK button.
The companies and their corresponding identifiers are added to the
sheet.
The company list can be used in any BestLink for Excel reporting feature. If the company list is not saved, the companies are placed in a temporary list called -Search Results- and is available within Custom Lists.
