Data Notice for Best's Statement File - Global
Following consultation with a number of clients, a decision was made to adjust the way in which company accounts are allocated to a data year in Statement File - Global. In the past, the data was allocated on a calendar year basis (from January to December), meaning that companies would be allocated to the year of their Financial Year End.
In order to bring the product in-line with our clients needs, the data allocation will now be based on the reporting year of July to June, meaning that companies filing between January 1st and June 30th 2013 will now be allocated to the previous data year.
This change will allow for the faster delivery of non-December year end data and remove the need to manually shift data backwards so that companies can be compared more accurately.

Please be aware that a recent update has been made to the Workers' Compensation fields regarding the addition of Excess Workers' Compensation data. The fields affected are Workers' compensation - Net, Workers' compensation - Gross, and Workers' compensation - Direct.
From October 19, 2010 to October 29, 2010, Excess Workers' Compensation data was included in Workers' Compensation (Line 16). In accordance with NAIC specifications, as of October 29, 2010, Excess Workers' Compensation data will be reported in Other Liability (Line 17.3). In order to utilize the most accurate information now available, we strongly recommend replacing any custom or standard reports you may have created in BestLink or BestLink for Excel that included these fields between October 19, 2010 and October 29, 2010.
