Where does the information in a custom report come from?
A.M. Best houses the world's largest proprietary database of insurance information, which contains nearly 30 years of insurance information. We collect data directly from insurance companies' quarterly, annual and as-filed statements and then place it into the following internal databases: Property/Casualty; Life/Health; State/Line; Consolidated Data; Quarterly Data; Special Files; International; HMO

What kind of data is contained in a custom report?
Your customized report can contain any data you require. Our databases include: thousands of P/C insurers and 800 A.M. Best groups, sub-groups, rating units and "as-filed" consolidated statements; nearly 2,000 L/H companies and 200 A.M. Best groups, including legal reserves, HMOs, fraternals, Canadian companies, and more; data on non-U.S. companies, including P/C, L/H and combined companies; direct premiums and losses plus expenses, by lines of business and by state; "as-filed" consolidated annual statements prepared by insurance companies; and all significant schedules and pages that are contained in the insurance companies' annual (including "as-filed" consolidated) and quarterly statements

How is the data in a custom report organized?
You can select any set of identifying characteristics you want to organize your custom report. There are many possible combinations, but some characteristics you may want to use include: state of domicile; group name and number; NAIC number; Federal Employer's ID number; organization type; marketing type; as-is data (a group's current year structure for all data years); as-was data (a group's structure as it existed in each prior year).
