The center also offers advanced searched capabilities, allowing a subscriber to search the database by domicile, parent/sponsor, manager and other criteria.

How do I access Best's Captive Center - Premium Data & Reports?
From the A.M. Best home page, select "Captive" from the "Insurance Information Centers" drop-down menu on the right side of the screen, which will take you to Best's Captive Center. Once there, click on the box that reads "Captive Center - Premium Data & Reports," on the upper left side of the screen. If you have not yet subscribed, you will be taken to a subscription page. If you are already a subscriber, you will be taken directly to the Advanced Search page or, if your session has timed out, to a log-in page to confirm your e-mail address and password. You can also access the product through the Member Center.

What fields and searches are available in Best's Captive Center - Premium Data & Reports?
The available fields are Company Name, Single-Parent Captive, Multi-Owner Captive, A.M. Best Number, Domicile, Parent/Sponsor, Captive Manager, Best's Rating, License Year and Captive Type. All fields are sortable.
The search fields are Company Name, A.M. Best Number, NAIC Number, Domicile of Company or Parent, Manager, License Year, Captive Name and CaptiveType.

What is available in Best's Captive Center for non-subscribers?
Non-subscribers have access to Best's Rating information and news headlines, as well as directory information that includes domicile, owner type, parent or sponsor, manager (with Captive Manager Profiles), license year and captive type. Only subscribers to the Premium Data & Reports section have access to AMB Credit Reports.

What reports are available through Best's Captive Center -- Premium Data & Reports?
In addition to AMB Credit Reports on rated captives, Special Reports focused on the captive insurance industry will be made available in PDF format to registered subscribers. These include two basic reports: an overview of the captive industry and a statistical compilation of rated captive insurance organizations. These are published at various times throughout the year and are updated annually.

What are Historical AMB Credit Reports?
An archive of Historical AMB Credit Reports dating back to 2001 is available online as part of A.M. Best's line of standard product offerings. The archived reports, previously available only on a custom basis, present A.M. Best's analysis and commentary on property/casualty, life and health insurers at the time of each report's release.
Each historical report costs $50; stand-alone and LAN purchasers of the following A.M. Best products can buy reports for $35 each for the companies listed in the product edition they've purchased: Best's Insurance Reports, Best's Captive Center - Premium Data & Reports, Best's Health Center - Premium Data & Reports, Best's Reinsurance Center - Premium Data & Reports and Best's Statement File - Global. Customers who have Unlimited subscriptions to these products can access archived reports free of charge.
Archived reports can be purchased in print or online. To purchase a printed report, call Customer Service at (908) 439-2200, ext. 5742. Online reports are available through Best's Rating Center, www.ambest.com/ratings, by typing the name of the desired company into the search box, selecting the specific company from the list of search results and choosing "AMB Credit Report - Insurance Professional (Unabridged) Archive" from the Reports and News section. Displayed in HTML format, the reports can be viewed online for 14 days from the date of purchase and printed for personal use.
