Current office: U.S. Senate
Daughter of former New Orleans Mayor Moon Landrieu and sister of Louisiana Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, she was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1980 to 1988, and then served as Louisiana state treasurer from 1988 to 1996. Made an unsuccessful bid for governor in 1995 before she was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996.
