E-Fusion 2009, presented by the A.M. Best Company, offered Webcast presentations that bring together insurance IT executives and business innovators to explore the impact of technology on the insurance industry. Comprised of weekly, live Webcasts throughout the month of October, this year's competition featured Webcasts for each of the finalists chosen by the judges and culminated in the presentation of the 2009 E-Fusion Award to Towers Perrin for their CATography application.
The E-Fusion Award is designed to highlight outstanding, resourceful uses of technology as applied to business strategy in the insurance industry. The award finalists were selected during a preliminary round of judging.

2009 E-Fusion Award Recipient: Towers Perrin, CATography:Towers Perrin's "CATography" is a comprehensive catastrophe exposure management system which helps insurers manage their exposure to risk with precision and evaluate how new risks will impact existing portfolios. Insurers like United Fire Group have been able to use the system to implement a catastrophe risk and claims management strategy custom-tailored for its organization.
Capitol Insurance Companies, Cap Online Producer Functionality project: Capitol Insurance Companies has developed and implemented the "Cap Online Producer Functionality" application. This software helps manage both traditional and non-traditional agencies, facilitate clear communications between Capitol and its agencies throughout the United States, and track detailed customer feedback and data.
2009 E-Fusion Award Presentation and Re-Cap:The 2009 E-Fusion Award competition concluded with the fourth and final presentation, during which the 2009 E-Fusion Award recipient, as selected by the panel of judges, was announced.
(CANCELLED) Aon Risk Services, Global Risk Insight Platform (GRIP): Aon Risk Services has withdrawn their GRIP application from consideration for the 2009 E-Fusion Award. According to a statement from Aon Risk Services, "Aon is very honored to have been selected as a finalist for the A.M. Best E-Fusion Award. However, due to the proprietary nature of Aon GRIP, we have decided to withdraw our nomination."

The A.M. Best Company's E-Fusion 2008 event brought together leading carriers, brokers and others who explored the cutting edge in technology-enabled insurance to examine issues facing the insurance industry today and in the future. During the series, three E-Fusion Award finalists presented their project entries. The 2008 E-Fusion Award recipient, American Family Insurance, was announced during the final Webinar on December 3.
