Smiles and trophies abound as A.M. Best Co. presents the recipient and top four finalists of the Second Annual E-Fusion Award. Back row, from left, are: Brian Emmen, Jeff Brown and Daniel W. Crandall, General Fire & Casualty Co.; Mark Birrell, Wildnet Group, and Mark Chapman, Global Aerospace (which submitted joint entry with Wildnet). Front row, from left, are: Paul C. Tinnirello, A.M. Best Co.; Charlie Blackorby and Sundeep Dronawat, Integrity Life Insurance Co; E-Fusion Award recipients Julie Klapstein and Daniel Chavez, Availity LLC; Jeff Goldberg, and Mark R. Harle, Marsh; and Lee McDonald, A.M. Best Co. Sundeep Dronawat, vice president, e-commerce, for Integrity Life Insurance Co., asks a compelling question to one of the many technology experts speaking at 2003 E-Fusion. Integrity Life was one of the finalists for the E-Fusion Award. Todd Silverhart, assistant vice president and head of technology, marketing and distribution for Limra International, listens intently during one of the many interesting discussions at E-Fusion. Silverhart was also a presenter at the conference.
Julie Klapstein, chief executive officer of Availity, the recipient of this year's E-Fusion Award, chats with Daniel Chavez, vice president of operations for Availity, at the E-Fusion social on the deck of the Moshulu Restaurant, docked at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. Mark Birrell, chief executive of London-based Wildnet Group, and Mark Chapman of Global Aerospace enjoy the view from one of the decks of the Moshulu Restaurant, a 99-year-old sailing shop docked at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. As a joint entry, Wildnet and Global Aerospace were one of five E-Fusion finalists. John R. Cashin, an attorney with Stroock & Stroock & Levan LLP, left, and William B. Jenkins, chairman of ACORD and managing partner, SolvIT Consulting Group LLC, engage in a rousing debate during the final 2003 E-Fusion session.
Attendees to E-Fusion were treated to a Monday night social aboard the Moshulu, docked at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. The 99-year-old ship is the only four-mast sail ship still afloat today.
