Captive Rating Evaluation List of data items

The following is a list of data items that may be needed to rate a Captive
company. It is recommended that you have these items prepared in advance.
- Annual Reports - Latest five years or five year projections, then annually
- Audited financial statements for parent and subsidiary companies (annually)
- Actuarial reports, both internal and external, when available (annually)
- Corporate structure and history (initially and as changed)
- Management structure and key executive committees (initially and as changed)
- Biographical information on principal officers (initially and as changed)
- Operating Plan (annually)
- Capital Management Strategies
- Completed Best's Supplemental Rating Questionnaire (annually)
- Any other Information the Insurer believes is relevant to the rating
process.
- Any other reasonable information requested by A.M. Best Company, including
but not limited to:
(a) Estimated impact (net and gross) from catastrophe or
other unusual event. (b) Details of changes in ownership, management,
products, or operations. (c) Revised projection of year-end results. (d)
Plans to mitigate losses and/or correct an identified problem.
- Proforma projections for captive and parent.
- History of losses and premiums.
- Organization structure for parent and subsidiaries.
